NFL Network host says believing in Eagles is believing in America

The NFL Network's Kyle Brandt was one of the few national media members to come to the Eagles' defense last week in the build-up to their divisional playoff game with the Falcons.

It was a rather legendary rant that gave hope to the people of Philadelphia.

The Good Morning Football host had another take on the Birds this morning. With the Eagles hosting the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship and once again being the home underdogs, Brandt reminds us believing in the Birds is believing in America.

"This is bigger than the Eagles. This is not about the team. This is about the city," Brandt says.

Brandt then compares the Eagles to the up-start patriots who founded this country. No, not the football team from New England, the real life Ben Franklins and John Adams who were once underdogs against the British.

"Let the Vikings ride this wave of being the country's new sweet heart," he says.

"Don't ever disrespect the womb of democracy. Put your bets on Philadelphia. Fly Eagles fly to Minnesota and god bless America."

It's certainly a rant.

As an added bonus, Brandt will be a guest on NBC Sports Philadelphia's PST this evening at 5 pm. Be sure to catch his latest ravings then.
