This sure looks like a Sixers red alternate uniform in NBA 2K

After a somewhat blurry image appeared on a Chinese website a week or so back featuring a red Sixers uniform, there was speculation that it could be an alternate jersey for the upcoming season.

You can see that image below courtesy of Conrad Burry who describes himself as a content creator at @sportslogosnet.

Burry followed up that report today with what he believes to be a confirmation from the NBA 2K video game of a pretty snappy looking new red uniform with a more script-like font across the front.

The Sixers unveiled two of their four new Nike uniforms back in the beginning of August -- the Association and Icon editions -- so the image of a red jersey you see above could certainly be one of the planned alternates.

Here's what Jess Camerato wrote at the time:

In addition to the “Association” and “Icon” jerseys, every team will have a uniform inspired by the community and another based on the NBA players’ mindsets. These editions will be revealed over the upcoming months.

And what the Sixers had to say:

“We are confident that the next two jerseys we unveil will additionally capture the spirit of this historic city, the imagination of new Philadelphia, and the passion of our loyal fans,” Sixers chief sales & marketing officer Chris Heck said. “Before the 2017-18 season has even begun, our 'Welcome to the Moment’ campaign has generated national recognition and acclaim, and we look forward to continuing the momentum as the season progresses.”

We're trying to confirm that these are indeed legit but I think Sixers fans will be pretty pleased if they are.

In somewhat unrelated news, the 2K video game has also gifted us with this pretty sweet handshake commercial featuring none other than one Joel Hans Embiid.
