Video: Vinny Lecavalier gets first Flyers hat trick in win over Isles

The Flyers' offense finally scored more than two goals in a game for the first time all season on Saturday. In fact, Vincent Lecavalier did it by himself. Yes, it still counts.

Lecavalier paced Philly's offense with three goals in the 5-2 win over the New York Islanders, giving Orange & Black its second win in a row. Suddenly, the Flyers have six points and are in danger of crawling out of the Metropolitan Division basement.

You can thank a rejuvenated top line for Saturday's effort. Lecavalier and Claude Giroux seem to have formed an almost instant chemistry in just two games together, as the captain assisted on two parts of the hat trick. What great hands though by the four-time All Star. None of these goals by Lecavalier were gimmes, but they sure all were pretty.

The other good news here was one of Lecavalier's goals came on the power play, where the Flyers had been downright feeble of late. They're still ranked 28th with a 10-percent conversion rate after going 1-for-3 on Saturday, but it was a step in the right direction.
