Here's a pretty cool video of some of the folks over at Wilson heading to Clearwater to hook up some of the Phillies with custom gloves. Jonathan Papelbon, Marlon Byrd, Carlos Ruiz and others talk about what they like in a glove and we learn a little bit about some of their superstitions. Apparently some ball players, such as Marlon Byrd, don't let any other humans touch their leather. Jonathan Papelbon isn't that anal.
My favorite part of the clip is when Carlos Ruiz talks about his glove being his "baby" and about the nickname his mom gave him. Adorable.
Also, Wilson guys, if you're reading this my softball season doesn't start for a couple of months if you want to hook a brother up with some new leather (traditional brown, maybe a little accent color of your choosing?).
