SEATTLE (AP) Clint Dempsey scored twice in a five-minute span early in the second half and set up Lamar Neagle's first-half goal to help the Seattle Sounders beat the Colorado Rapids 4-1 on Saturday.
Dempsey leads MLS with eight goals. He has at least a goal or an assist in each of Seattle's last six games. It is the second time in his career that Dempsey has had a six-game scoring streak in MLS, having done it previously in 2005 while with the New England Revolution.
Obafemi Martins added a 75th-minute goal for Seattle. The Sounders have won three straight to improve to 5-2-1. Dillon Serna scored in the 62nd minute for the Rapids (3-2-2).
IMPACT 1, UNION 0
MONTREAL (AP) - Felipe Martins scored in the first half and Montreal held on to beat Philadelphia for its first MLS victory of the season.
It was the Impact's (1-4-3) first win since a 2-1 decision over Philadelphia on Oct. 19 last season.
Philadelphia (1-3-5) is winless in its last seven games.
Felipe got his second goal of the season in the 15th minute when Patrice Bernier stole the ball from Sheanon Williams and took a long shot that Zac MacMath blocked, only to fee the Brazilian bang in the rebound.
D.C. UNITED 4, FC DALLAS 1
WASHINGTON (AP) - Fabian Espindola scored twice and added an assist to lead D.C. United past short-handed FC Dallas.
Bobby Boswell and Sean Franklin also scored for the Washington club, which extended its unbeaten run to five matches and scored all four of its goals after the first-half ejection of Dallas defender Zach Loyd.
Dallas' Michel also was sent off late by referee Fotis Bazakos.
D.C. forward and U.S. World Cup hopeful Eddie Johnson assisted on Espindola's first goal just before halftime, but left in the 51st minute with an apparent leg injury.
Mauro Diaz put the visitors ahead early to extend Dallas' streak of scoring at least one goal to seven matches. United improved to 3-2-2, and Dallas dropped to 5-2-1.
WHITECAPS 2, REAL SALT LAKE 2, TIE
SANDY, Utah (AP) - Nicolas Mezquida and Sebastian Fernandez scored late goals to give Vancouver the tie with Real Salt Lake.
Vancouver (2-2-4) tied it on Fernandez's 35-yard shot in the 94th minute.
Joao Plata and Alvaro Saborio scored in the first nine minutes for Salt Lake (3-0-5), the only unbeaten team in MLS team and the ninth team in league history to go undefeated in its first eight games. Salt Lake has a 12-game regular-season unbeaten streak.
REVOLUTION 2, SPORTING KANSAS CITY 0
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Teal Bunbury scored in stoppage time to break a scoreless tie in New England's victory over Sporting Kansas City.
Bunbury scored in the in 92nd minute, and Lee Nguyen scored from the spot in the 95th minute to keep the Revolution unbeaten (2-0-1) at home this season. They are 3-3-2 overall.
Kansas City (3-2-2) went down to 10 men in the 74th minute when Aurelien Collin was red-carded for a hard challenge on Diego Fagundez near the box.
EARTHQUAKES 1, CHIVAS USA 0
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Yannick Djalo scored in the 66th minute to help San Jose beat Chivas USA for its first victory of the season.
Djalo blasted a shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner of goal about a foot inside the post. Djalo started the second half in place of Atiba Harris.
The Earthquakes nearly scored again just a minute later, but Chris Wondolowski was caught offside after a pass from Shea Salinas, negating the score.
The Earthquakes improved to 1-2-3, and Chivas USA dropped to 1-4-3.
RED BULLS 1, CREW 1, TIE
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Bradley Wright-Phillips scored in the 66th minute for New York in the tie Columbus.
Wright-Phillips was coming off a three-goal game in a 4-0 win over Houston on Wednesday night.
Jairo Arrieta gave Columbus (3-1-3) the lead in the 39th minute with his first penalty kick attempt of his three-year Crew career after New York defender Kosuke Kimura fouled Justin Meram.
The Red Bulls (2-2-5) are 2-0-1 in their past three games. The Crew are winless in four (0-1-3).
