PITTSBURGH -- Outside linebacker Jason Babin will make his Ravens debut against the Steelers, as he is on the active roster for the first time since signing with the Ravens on Sept. 16. Babin figures to play on passing downs as the Ravens seek to contain Steelers quarterback Mike Vick, starting in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger.
Cornerback Will Davis, acquired in a trade with the Dolphins 10 days ago, is also active for the first time. He is likely to be the No. 4 cornerback for the Ravens behind Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb and Kyle Arrington.
The Ravens deactivated cornerback Rashaan Melvin, who struggled in his season debut last week as he committed three penalties and was ultimately benched. The other healthy scratches for the Ravens include rookie cornerback Tray Walker and defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi.
Four Ravens who were already ruled out for the game are also inactive: wide receiver Breshad Perriman (knee), tight end Crockett Gillmore (calf), tackle Eugene Monroe (concussion) and defensive end Chris Canty (calf). Gillmore's absence means rookie Maxx Williams will get his first start at tight end.
For the Steelers, in addition to Roethlisberger, linebacker Ryan Shazier (shoulder), tight end Matt Spaeth (hand) and defensive tackle Daniel McCullers (knee) had also already been ruled out. Cornerback Cortez Allen, who was questionable with a knee injury, is also inactive. The other Steelers inactives are linebacker Anthony Chickillo and tight end Jesse James.
