The Ravens signed pass-rusher Jason Babin almost two weeks ago, but they still haven’t dressed him for a game. Babin was declared inactive Sunday, a surprise after the Ravens’ pass rush was virtually silent during their Week 2 loss to the Raiders.
Babin was signed Sept. 15 after the Ravens lost outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (Achilles injury) for the season. The Ravens felt Babin did not know their defense well enough to face the Raiders after being with them for just a few days.
Babin seemed like a good bet to dress Sunday against the Bengals, after another week of practice. However, Babin was a healthy scratch, and joined defensive end Chris Canty, left tackle Eugene Monroe (concussion), wide receiver Breshad Perriman (knee), defensive end Christo Bilukidi, and cornerbacks Will Davis and Tray Walker on the Ravens’ inactive list.
Inactive for the Bengals were wide receivers Mario Alford and Greg Little, defensive tackles Marcus Hardison and Pat Sims, defensive end Margus Hunt, cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, and tight end C. J. Uzomah.
