PHILADELPHIA – After three joint practices and four nights in Philadelphia, the Ravens will finally play the Eagles in their preseason game, Saturday night at 7 (coverage begins at 6:30 on CSN). Here are five people who figure to create some buzz:
Sam Bradford, Eagles QB
The oft-injured starting Eagles quarterback didn’t play in their preseason opener. He is expected to make his Eagles debut. But how long will Eagles coach Chip Kelly want to expose Bradford to Ravens pass rushers like Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs?
Tim Tebow, Eagles QB
Ever heard of him? Once Bradford leaves the game, the attention will turn to Eagles backup quarterbacks Tebow, Mark Sanchez, and Matt Barkley. Tebow is fighting to make the roster, and he good moments and not-so-good moments during practice this week. The Ravens’ defense doesn’t want Tebow, or any of the Eagles, looking good at their expense.
Steve Smith, Ravens WR
If he plays, keep an eye on him. Smith was his usual trash-talking self during joint practices this week, but the Eagles defenders weren’t allowed to tackle him to the ground. But in the game, Smith and the Eagles will be going full speed. Could be some fireworks.
Lorenzo Taliaferro, Ravens RB
He got the most carries in the preseason opener, and the Ravens are trying to save Justin Forsett’s legs for the regular season. If Taliafero has a strong showing, he could take another step toward winning his battle with rookie Buck Allen to be the No. 2 back
Cody Parkey, Eagles kicker
The Ravens are blessed to have one of the NFL’s best kickers in Justin Tucker. Parkey looked like one of the best last season, when he made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. However, Parkey missed an extra point and a field goal in the preseason opener. If Parkey misses more against the Ravens, the Eagles may begin to wonder.
