Putting aside whatever may be going on with Ed Reed, everyone assumes the next order of business for the Ravens now that Ray Rices contract is resolved will be Joe Flacco.
According to the quarterbacks agent, his client isnt too concerned about getting it done.
Joe is very, very excited for the season, Joe Linta told Aaron Wilson of The Carroll County Times. Hes really adamant about getting the Ravens to the next step. The contract at this point is secondary to that goal. Joe has the attitude that hell earn it.
Flacco heads into the 2012 season in the last year of the contract he signed as a rookie in 2008, which will pay him a bit under 6.8 million. For comparison, the franchise tag for a quarterback this year what Drew Brees would have played for without his new deal is 16.3 million.
Meanwhile, Flaccos agent and the Ravens keep talking.
Weve had great conversations, and were going to keep talking, Linta said. Everything is good. Were going to keep talking, keep the lines of communication open.
