The Ravens are looking for pass rushers, which is why defensive end-outside linebacker Noah Spence of Eastern Kentucky is on their draft radar. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Spence will visit the Ravens this week, as well as the Buccaneers, Cardinals, Jaguars, and Packers.
Spence won’t be the Ravens’ choice with the No. 6 pick, but he could come into play for them if they trade down, or if Spence falls to the second round.
Spence will come to the NFL with baggage, after taking a form of ecstasy while in college and lying about it, leading to his dismissal from Ohio. St. However, some scouts view Spence as the best pass rusher in the draft. His talent coupled with his past troubles make Spence’s landing spot difficult to predict.
In his latest mock draft, Todd McShay of ESPN has Spence going to the Ravens in the second round with the No. 36 pick overall.
However, in his latest mock draft, Ben Standig of CSN has Spence going in the first round at No. 27 to the Packers.
Spence had 11 ½ sacks last season, and Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has stated his desire for a pass rusher. When Spence comes to visit, the Ravens hope to get a better handle on whether the risk of drafting him is worth the potential reward.
