BALTIMORE – The Ravens suffered another significant injury in the first quarter Sunday, when running back Justin Forsett left the game with a broken right arm. Forsett was off to a good start Sunday, with 26 yards on four carries.
John Harbaugh would confirm after the game that Forsett would be out for the season.
Forsett’s injury occurred when he was slammed to the ground by Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald after a five-yard loss. Forsett did not get up immediately, and a hush fell over the crowd at M&T Bank Stadium. By the time Forsett was assisted off the field, his right arm had already been placed in a temporary air cast.
Buck Allen and Raheem Mostert would take over the running back duties with Forsett out of the lineup. Former Towson star running back Terrance West was not placed on the active list for Sunday’s game. However, the Ravens could have difficulty dealing with the long-term impact of Forsett’s injury. They have already been without No. 1 wide receiver Steve Smith since his season-ending Achilles injury in Week 8.
