OWINGS MILLS - News and notes from Ravens practice, Wednesday Aug. 5:
- Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil returned
The Ravens’ leading pass rusher was back on the field after missing the previous four practices with tendonitis in his Achilles. Dumervil moved well showed no sign of favoring the injury.
“He’s good to go,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.
- Wide receiver Kamar Aiken continues to impress.
Aiken caught a deep pass from Joe Flacco and continues to impress at wide receiver. With Marlon Brown (back) and Breshad Perriman (knee) nursing injuries, Aiken is taking advantage of more reps.
- Will Hill is having a strong training camp at safety.
During the offseason, Hill was a fixture at the practice facilty, and that work has paid off. Hill was always a big hitter, but he looks more confident in pass coverage, making quick decisions and showing greater range.
- Defensive end Brent Urban is using his strength well.
Urban likes contact, and he is adding more physicality to a physical defense. Expect Urban to play regularly as part of the defensive line rotation.
- Quote of the Day:
“You watch film, and there’s no reason why the guy shouldn’t have been in the Pro Bowl last year.” – left tackle Eugene Monroe, talking about left guard Kelechi Osemele.
