The Ravens promoted wide receiver Jeremy Ross from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday, the team announced. To make room for Ross, the Ravens waived defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi, who had been inactive the first four games.
The move was not a surprise, considering the Ravens’ depleted depth at wide receiver and returner. Wide receiver Steve Smith (back) is listed as doubtful for Sunday, Breshad Perriman (knee) remains out indefinitely, and Michael Campanaro (back) is done for the season. Ross adds depth at wide receiver, and is expected to replace Campanaro as the primary kick returner.
Ross joined the Ravens’ practice squad Sept. 8. He was originally signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He has one career touchdown as a punt returner, one touchdown as a kickoff returner, and 30 career receptions for 381 yards and two touchdowns. Ross played for the Lions last season, and has also spent time with the Colts and Packers.
