WHAT WENT WRONG: Gausman had a horrible fourth inning when he allowed three runs as Texas took a 4-3 lead. Shin-Soo Choo had a two-run single for the win.
WHAT WENT RIGHT: In relief of Gausman, Dylan Bundy pitched a perfect three innings. It’s the first time in the majors he’s completed three innings.
WILL GAUSMAN EVER WIN?: Gausman has yet to win in 12 starts this season.
WILL GAUSMAN EVER WIN ON THE ROAD: Gausman is now 3-15 on the road and hasn’t won away from Baltimore since Aug. 17, 2014.
IT’S OVER WITH: The Orioles had been dreading this trip, a makeup of an April game that was rained out. They had to squeeze it in on an off day in the midst of a homestand.
ROBBING HIM: On Bundy’s last batter, Adam Jones made an excellent catch to rob Elvis Andrus of an extra-base hit.
RUNNERS GET ON: The Orioles had 15 hits, but left 12 runners. They didn’t have a runner in scoring position after the third inning until Mark Trumbo’s single in the ninth. Thirteen of the 15 hits were singles.
WEIRD STAT: Each Orioles starter had at least one hit, six had two hits, but they still lost.
MISSING MANNY: The Orioles are now 1-1 without Manny Machado. He has two games left in his four-game suspension.
ANOTHER SCHOOP?: According to the Virginian-Pilot, the Orioles have told Sharlon Schoop, Jonathan’s older brother to drive to Baltimore in case he’s needed for Tuesday’s game.
HOT ONE: Game time temperature in Arlington, Tex. was 92 degrees, the warmest of the season.
COMING UP: The Orioles host the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. RHP Tyler Wilson (3-5, 4.16) faces RHP Luis Perdomo (2-2, 8.79).
