Here’s a quick reaction to the Ravens’ 2016 schedule which was released tonight. Take a look at it here.
Three things the Ravens will like:
1. The start of the schedule looks manageable:
They open at home against the Bills, followed by two road games against teams that had losing records in 2015– at Browns in Week 2, and at Jaguars in Week 3. A 3-0 start for the Ravens is certainly a possibility if they play well.
2.Their bye is Week 8
Most teams like to have their bye at about the midway point. The Ravens will get a much needed break at the midway point.
3. The Ravens never play more than two straight games on the road
Three things the Ravens won’t like
1. The finish looks tough
Three of the Ravens’ last four games are on the road – at the Patriots in Week 14, at the Steelers in Week 16, and at the Bengals in Week 17. If the Ravens need a strong finish to make the playoffs, they may not get in.
2. The Ravens don’t have a Monday night home game
The Ravens have complained about their lack of Monday night home games for years, and that won’t change in 2016. Their lone Monday night appearance is against the Patriots in Week 15.
3. The Ravens will spend Christmas on the road
They face their archrivals, the Steelers, on Christmas afternoon in Pittsburgh. Of course, a Ravens victory over the Steelers would be a perfect Christmas gift for Ravens fans.
