It's been a bad year on The Hilltop - in fact, the worst season in John Thompson III's Georgetown career. But should the Hoyas make a change? John Feinstein and Gary Williams say absolutely not.
"There's been questions if John Thompson III’s name was something other than Thompson would he get fired? I don’t think he should," Feinstein said. "I say that because his overall record."
His overall record includes making the NCAA Tournament eight times with Georgetown and a Final Four team in 2007.
"You got to give him at least one more year to straighten this out," Feinstein said of JT3.
Former Terps coach Gary Williams joined that sentiment: "I agree 100 percent."
Williams said he watched theHoyas this year, and while they struggled defensively, Thompson is still the coach to bring Georgetown back.
"All of a sudden it doesn’t work this particular year, that doesn’t mean John Thomson isn’t a good coach," Williams said. "Some years you just can’t get it together for whatever reason."
