Billy Hurley III's phone blows up after emotional win at Congressional

Billy Hurley III's phone blows up after emotional win at Congressional

After 10 years as a professional golfer, Billy Hurley finally broke through for his first ever win on the PGA Tour on Sunday afternoon at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda. The win was particularly emotional for Hurley, who lost his father last year, and played collegiantly at the Naval Academy.

Hurley got his first win, in what was basically a home game - Hurley lives in Annapolis. And when all was said and done - Hurley received congratulations and a trophy from Tiger Woods and enjoyed the night with his family, eventually, Hurley got to his cell phone. And a lot of people had reached out. A lot.

Hurley's neighbors then welcomed home the Quicken Loans National champ back to Annapolis.

And then Monday morning, in a way, Hurley was able to return to his normal life. Sorta.

Tiger Woods announces return to 2018 National at TPC Potomac

Tiger Woods is back, y'all.

Woods announced Monday morning that he will be playing in the 2018 National taking place at TPC Potomac June 25-July 1.

The National is returning to TPC Potomac for the second time in its history.

Woods last competed in The National in 2015, winning the tournament in 2009 and 2012.

I am really looking forward to being back in the D.C. area this summer playing in The National, Woods said. As a two-time champion of this event benefiting my foundation, The National has always been a special event for me.

Since returning to golf in December, Woods has played in five events including the Hero World Challenge where he tied for ninth, the Valspar Championship tying for second and the Arnold Palmer Invitational where he tied for fifth.

Next up for the 42-year old on his comeback trail is The Masters taking place April 5-8 at Augusta National Golf Club.

Tickets for The National at TPC Potomac are on sale now.
