The 2017 British Open is gearing up for another classic tournament. Hosted at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club for a 10th time, the Open Championship is a must-see for the casual sports fan. 

As the oldest major championship in professional golf, 2017 will be the 146th time The Open takes place.

This competition is one of the few that consistently features the greatest competition in the world. 

Littered with past champions, the 2017 Open Championship will once again be one of the toughest events in golf. Henrik Stenson will be back looking to defend his title, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickleson are still looking for their first PGA Tour win of the season, and Dustin Johnson looks to continue his stellar year chasing a second major championship.

2017 BRISTH OPEN FIELD:

Players have until 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, July 14 to commit to the Open Championship.

The field will be announced by the PGA Tour as soon as possible following the deadline.

2017 Quicken Loans National: Saturday Tee Times, Pairings, TV Channel

After two rounds at the Quicken Loans National, David Lingmerth continues to sweep through the competition. In back-to-back rounds, the Sweede shot a 65 to maintain the tournament lead at the TPC Potomac through the first two days.

At 10-under par, Lingmerth's stroke lead is only two with Geoff Ogilvy at 8-under who also shot a 65 on Day 2. 

Round 3 of the 2017 Quicken Loans National will start Saturday morning just before 8:00 a.m. ET. The first pairing to be sent out will be Lucas Glover (+4) and Patrick Rodgers (+4).

Lingmerth tees off at 1:35 p.m. with Ogilvy.  

Tournament favorite, Rickie Fowler will tee off at 10:01 after staying at 2-over at TPC Potomac. The cut was made at 4-over Currently he sits tied at 37th in the tournament rankings. 

Coverage of Round 3 can be seen starting at 1:00 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, going to 2:30 p.m. CBS picks up TV coverage at 3:00 and will hold the tournament down until the end of the round or  until 6:00 p.m.
