Former Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs is listed as active for the first time in his NFL career against Denver, as reflected by the team with the release of their inactives list on Sunday -- a list Diggs was not on.
Diggs was inactive for the first three weeks of the season, games against San Francisco, Detroit, and San Diego.
The news Sunday comes after Diggs had a strong showing in the preseason for the Vikings, but was unable to see the field with the number of players ahead of him on the depth chart. The team has six wide receivers on the roster and Diggs had been the odd man out.
But with starting wide receiver Charles Johnson reportedly out with a rib injury and fellow wideout Jarius Wright listed as questionable with a hand injury, Diggs gets his chance.
According to Ben Goessling of ESPN.com, Diggs was out on the field pregame getting reps with starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater:
Stefon Diggs out on the field for an early throwing session with Bridgewater. He'll likely see his first NFL action today.

And it just so happens to come against a team that features one of Diggs' former teammates, defensive lineman Darius Kilgo. The rookie, Kilgo, has four tackles through three games with Denver.
