The 10 Most-Hated Dallas Cowboys of All Time
The 10 Most-Hated Dallas Cowboys
On Cowboys Week, we bring you the 10-most hated Dallas Cowboys of all-time. We had to rank them, but really, they're all the worst.
10. Darren Woodson, S, 1992-2003
A Cowboy for his entire 12-year career, Woodson was a defensive staple in the defense of the 90's Cowboy dynasty. That's enough to land him at #10 all-time.
9. Tony Romo, QB, 2003-2016
Probably the most hated Cowboys QB of all-time, Romo was 11-9 vs. the Redskins in his career. Romo threw 27 touchdowns against the Skins, 2nd-most of any NFL team. That 2013 24-23 win over Washington (with a broken back, no less) will haunt Skins fans forever.
8. Leon Lett, DT, 1991-2000
An 11-year Cowboy lifer, Lett was 9-5 against the Redskins over his career. Luckily, Skins fans can always remember his infamous fumble during the Cowboys-Dolphins Thanksgiving game if they want the last laugh.
7. Nate Newton, G, 1986-1998
Newton actually signed as an undrafted free agent with the Redskins out of college, but was cut during training camp. He was signed by the Cowboys, becoming an All-Pro during his 12-year stint in Dallas. One of the ultimate Ones That Got Away.
6. Dez Bryant, WR, 2010-present
The latest in a long line of larger-than-life Cowboys wide receivers, Dez is known within this rivalry for his recent beef with Josh Norman. He's also scored more touchdowns against the Skins (7) than any other team besides the Eagles (9).
5. Roy Williams, S, 2002-2010
Alongside Woodson, Williams (illegally?) wrecked Redskins' skill players for years. Remember when Mark Brunell and Santana Moss torched him for 2 TDs during that infamous 2005 Monday Night Football game?
4. Terrell Owens, WR, 2006-2008
On November 18, 2007, Owens set a new career high and tied a franchise record, with four touchdown catches against Redskins. He also cried for Tony Romo. A meme that still dominates the internet today.
3. Deion Sanders, CB, 1995-1999
Arrogant, loud, and Super Bowl winner. None of those characteristics in a Cowboys uniform makes you likeable. Oh, and he was also a Redskin, for a year, after signing a massive 7 year $56 million deal in his 11th season in the NFL. He then retired after just one season with the Redskins.
2. Michael Irvin, WR 1988-1999
Even worse than Deion, Irvin won THREE Super Bowls with the Cowboys. Success in a Cowboys uniform of that magnitude makes you three times as hated in fans’ eyes.
1. Jerry Jones, owner, 1989-present
Was there any question? The absolute worst.
