SEATTLE—The Redskins did some roster shuffling after landing here on Friday night in advance of their game against the Seahawks on Sunday.
The worst-kept secret in Ashburn last week was that 13-year veteran safety DeAngelo Hall was going to return to the 53-man roster. He has not played since Week 3 of last year. Hall suffered a torn ACL in that game and he has been on the PUP list since the start of training camp as he continued to rehab the injury. He started practicing on October 19 and he was eligible to return to the active roster last week.

The Redskins put safety Stefan McClure on injured reserve earlier this week, leaving a spot at the position. They didn’t activate Hall immediately because they had to see how things went with the bevy of injured players, including on the roster.
The corresponding move to Hall’s addition to the roster was the release of offensive lineman Orlando Franklin. He was signed just a week ago when the team found out that four of its top six offensive linemen would be on the shelf for the game against the Cowboys. The six-year veteran did collect two game checks, about $91,000, for his time.
That move actually signaled good news for the offensive line (well, except for Franklin). The fact that they were comfortable with letting Franklin go is a sign that right guard Brandon Scherff, who is listed as questionable for the game tomorrow, likely will be ready to play against the Seahawks. The move brings the number of offensive linemen on the roster down from 12 to 11. It doesn’t look like three starters, left guard Sean Lauvao (listed as out), center Spencer Long, and left tackle Trent Williams (both doubtful) will be able to go.

If Scherff, who suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain against the Eagles on October 23 and missed the first game of his career the following week, can play that will be a big boost for the offensive line. It would mean that the right side, with Scherff and tackle Morgan Moses, will be intact. The other likely starters are T.J. Clemmings at left tackle, Tyler Catalina at left guard, and Chase Roullier at center.
