Eric Fehr scores in first game with Penguins

It didn't take long for Eric Fehr to make an impression on his new team. The former Cap scored against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday in his first game with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Early in the second period, Pittsburgh's Matt Cullen broke the puck out of the defensive zone with Fehr. He passed it to Fehr then went to the net. Fehr tried to pass it back, but the pass was blocked away by the trailing defender into goalie Jonathan Bernier forcing him to save the deflection. Fehr followed his pass and grabbed the rebound behind the defense. He then forced the now out-of-position Bernier to stretch out his pad to cover down low and Fehr easily lifted the puck over him and into the net.

You can see the goal here.

As a free agent, Fehr signed a three-year, $6 million contract with Pittsburgh. Saturday was his first game with his new team because he was recovering from offseason elbow surgery.
