Happy belated Opening Day!
While the regular season just started, it's never too soon to take a look at some early season results and wonder what they mean of if they'll hold up as the season goes on.
The Padres and Phillies predictably disappointed, while the Reds (?!) and Pirates looked real strong in their opening series. Who else looked good? Who underwhelmed? Without further ado, your power rankings await:
30. San Diego Padres (LW: 26)
They got swept by the Dodgers, and as of Thursday night still haven't scored a run. At all. In three games.
29. Philadelphia Phillies (LW 30)
They also went 0-3 but hey they scored a run, so enjoy your time as not the worst team in the Power Rankings, Phillies.
28. Atlanta Braves (LW: 27)
The start of the Braves season didn't go as planned, except if you're their GM, in which case it went exactly as planned.
27. Arizona Diamondbacks (LW: 16)
Zack Greinke got shelled on Opening Day, AJ Pollock is out for a long time with an elbow fracture, so it's time to panic in the desert. Sound the panic trade alarm!
26. Colorado Rockies (LW: 29)
Trevor Story is the first player in MLB history to homer in his first three career games. One might say the young shortstop is the .... Story ... of the first week of MLB regular season action.
