When you are coming off one of the best age-22 seasons ever, win the NL MVP and considered one of the best players in your sport, there's a good chance you might own the town to play for.
Such is life for Bryce Harper, who in addition to being presented his MVP and Silver Slugger Award by GM Mike Rizzo, was also given the key to the city by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser just before Thursday's home opener at Nats Park.
As one might expect, Nats fans showered Harper with boisterous cheers and "M-V-P" chants as he was given one last opportunity to look back and celebrate his historic 2015 season.
Check out the video below of Harper accepting his latest honor.

UPDATE 10:11 p.m.
Harper was asked after Thursday's 6-4 loss about the pregame festivities.
"It's incredible. It's always an honor to get the key to the city," he said. "Truly I love D.C. and I love to live here, I love playing here. And what an honor to be able to get the key to the city from the mayor.....words can't explain how grateful I am for that and I can't thank the fans enough and the city of D.C. and it's a blessing."
