Major League Baseball is hoping to bring in the U.S. Anti-doping Agency to help its investigation into the allegations Ryan Zimmerman and other professional baseball players received performance enhancing drugs.
ESPN's T.J. Quinn reported the news on Tuesday night.
The investigation stems from a December report by Al-Jazeera America that linked Zimmerman, Ryan Howard and other MLB players to PEDs. Zimmerman and Howard have since filed lawsuits against the network, which plans to disband in April.
Zimmerman is suing Al Jazeera America for damages for defamation and libel. For more on his lawsuit, click here.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was also mentioned in the report. He is set to play in the Super Bowl in just two weeks, though the NFL's investigation is not expected to be completed until after the game.
