Max Scherzer may not be pitching in the playoffs for the Nationals, but he has found a way to be a part of the postseason action.
Scherzer will join FOX's broadcast of the American League Championship Series between the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays. The former Cy Young pitcher will be part of their pre and postgame coverage of the series, the network announced on Wednesday.
Scherzer joins former players Pete Rose, Frank Thomas and Raul Ibanez, along with host Kevin Burkhardt at the desk. The Nationals ace will start sharing his analysis on Friday as the Royals host the Blue Jays in Game 1.
Scherzer is coming off an excellent season with the Nats, one in which he tossed two no-hitters. He is one of the more insightful players on the Nationals and loves talking about the ins and outs of the game. If his interviews with Nats reporters are any indication, he's probably going to be pretty good at his new gig.
