In stunningly early fashion, the Washington Nationals clinched their spot MLB postseason Sunday as NL East champions, thanks to their defeat of the Philadelphia Phillies as well as the Atlanta Braves win over the Miami Marlins. The Nats have been division champions four of the last six seasons.
Although Washington's 3-2 win ended before the Braves-Marlins matchup, players and fans alike stuck around at Nationals Park to see how that game would end.
From inside the Nats clubhouse, here is the exact moment the players found out they are the NL East champions as the Braves topped the Marlins, 10-8 in extra innings.

And, of course, the good news was almost immediately followed by ski goggles and champagne showers. See more photos and videos of the Nats' celebration on CSN.
This is the first time in franchise history that the Nats have won back-to-back division titles, and Sunday's win was in large part because of Stephen Strasburg's eight scoreless innings. He has now pitched 34 scoreless innings, which is also a franchise record and MLB season's longest scoreless streak.
