Jayson Werth's walk-off hit lifted the Nationals to a 5-4 victory over the Cubs on Wednesday night and help the Nationals to finish off their six-game homestand with five victories.
And just when it all seemed like it couldn't get any better for Washington, along came Werth in a postgame interview with MASN's Dan Kolko.
"Let's hear it!" Werth yelled, raising his left arm and imploring the crowd to get into it. "Yeah!"
He soaked in the cheers and, into a hot mic, let out a relieved, "Holy s---."
"You've talked about people maybe criticizing your age coming into this season and you've said you've had a little bit left in the tank. You're convinced of that," Kolko then said, prefacing his question. "How do you feel just about the way that you're swinging it and what you've been able to accomplish over these last four days?"
"Yeah," Werth said, before turning to the crowd. "Those people can kiss my ass!"
