When it comes to being a sports fan, Wale is the anti-Drake. While Drake bounces around from franchise to franchise like he's a Super Ball thrown by Max Scherzer, Wale is a D.C. supporter through and through.
In the past (and these are just a few examples), the locally born rapper has used his Instagram account as a platform to garner more all-star votes for John Wall, appeared at Redskins draft parties, and created anthems about some of the area's biggest athletes, including Bryce Harper and Robert Griffin III. And on Thursday night, during Game 6 of the NBA Finals, his dedication to one of his beloved squads was put on display for a national audience — but you may have missed it.
At one point in the matchup, cameras panned across the Cavaliers bench. It was then, for a brief moment, that Wale appeared on screen, along with a sweet piece of jewelry.
Allow Twitter to explain:
Wale coolin court side with the Redskins chain on.— Taé Smoove 🌹 (@DelanteCherry) June 17, 2016

If anyone's upset about Wale sitting on Cleveland's side — after all, it feels like LeBron has been victimizing the Wizards since the 1960s — don't be. The man knows how to put the gold in Burgundy and Gold, and seeing him rock the 'Skins chain despite being at an NBA game and despite it being the NFL offseason proves he won't be switching allegiances to anyone (like the Seahawks, or the 49ers, or Kentucky, or the Heat, or the Astros, or Texas A&M, or the Raptors) anytime soon.
