After hearing former general manager Charley Casserly say earlier in Tuesday's Sports Junkies show that Deshaun Watson isn't a slam dunk top pick in the NFL Draft, J.P. Flaim got to thinking: Is there a series of events that would conclude with the Redskins thinking about drafting Clemson's star passer?
Yes, Flaim knew that he'd come across as crazy when he posed that question, but if Watson slides into the second round, he says he'd consider it, especially with the uncertainty behind Kirk Cousins' future in D.C. His other co-hosts shot the idea down quickly by citing the Redskins' need to draft defensive players, but Flaim said in the second round, Watson might be the best player available, which is something Scot McCloughan has valued in the past.
So, if the Redskins tag Cousins again, meaning the quarterback position is still murky in Washington, is Watson worth a look? Or are the other three Junkies right in not taking the thought too seriously? Watch the full video in the player above to hear both sides of the argument, then decide where you stand.
