Here is what you need to know on this Saturday, October 11, one day before the Washington Redskins go to Arizona to play the Cardinals.
Here’s the injury report, with game status for each player
Out (will not play)—QB Robert Griffin III (ankle), CB Tracy Porter (hamstring)
Doubtful (at least 75% chance will not play)—None
Questionable (50% chance of playing)—OT Trent Williams (knee), TE Jordan Reed (hamstring), S Ryan Clark (ankle), LB Brian Orakpo (ankle), LB Perry Riley (knee)
Players in italics were out of practice on Friday; others were limited.
Outlook—It’s difficult to see Riley playing, he has not practiced all week and has labored to get through very light agility drills during the portion of practice that reporters can observe. It could be tough for Clark as well; he is truly questionable with a 50-50 chance of playing.
Jordan Reed has a pretty good chance of playing, barring a setback to his hamstring. Orakpo and Williams are expected to play.
—I’m seeing some reports that Cardinals backup QB Drew Stanton has passed his concussion tests and will play against the Redskins on Sunday. That would make this game more challenging for Washington, no doubt about it.
—Jamarca Sanford has been playing safety in the NFL for five years but he has been with the Redskins for less than two weeks. Trenton Robinson has been in the Redskins system for a year but he’s only played a handful of snaps. If Ryan Clark can’t play, one of those two will start at free safety.
—Jay Gruden on Jordan Reed: “Jordan gives us another dimension with the passing game and obviously he’s good enough in the running game so he’s a duel-threat. It just adds to the mix. They have great corners out there with [Antonio] Cromartie and obviously Patrick Peterson so it’s a matchup we could utilize if he’s ready to go.”
—Today’s schedule: No availability, team will hold walkthrough in Arizona
—Days until: Redskins @ Cardinals 1; Titans @ Redskins 8; Monday night Redskins @ Cowboys 16
