Ever since suffering a season-ending injury, Niles Paul has received an outpouring of support and well wishes. Many fans have used social media to wish him the best in his recovery, but recently one admirer sent him something a little sweeter.
I'm sure this little guy doesn't have social media but maybe his folks do... I just want to thank the little homie Robert Wilkins for this card & the gummy bears, which also happen to be my favorite snack | #HTTR

A young Redskins fan sent Paul a care package which included a pack of gummy bears, a photo, and a handwritten letter. In the letter the fan wrote, "Dear Mr. Niles, I hope you feel better soon. Next year will be your year!". As you may remember, after Paul went down during the Redskins' first preseason game he reportedly told teammate Darrel Young that this year " was supposed to be his year". Wow, this kid is deep.
Paul shared the sweet gift on Instagram to express his gratitude to his new friend and hoped that maybe the young boy's parents would see it. One week ago, Paul had surgery on his ankle and reported that everything went well. Here's to a speedy recovery.
