Have we seen the last of RG3 suiting up for the Redskins? The wise guys in Las Vegas weighed in, and the results might surprise you. According to Bovada.lv, the odds are heavy that Griffin will start at least one game for Washington this fall.
The news from Vegas may seem odd after 'Skins coach Jay Gruden made the decision to start Kirk Cousins Week 1 against Miami and made the declaration, "This is Kirk's team." In February, Gruden declared Griffin his starter, and by most accounts, RG3 would have held that spot if not for a concussion suffered in the second preseason game against the Lions.
To bet Griffin will start this season runs a -$200 moneyline, meaning 1:2 odds. To win $100, a bettor would need to put down $200. Going the opposite way, if a bettor puts down $100 on Griffin not to make any starts this season, and it wins, that bettor would win $150. Those odds are 3:2.
Last season, the Redskins started three QBs: Griffin, Cousins and Colt McCoy. McCoy was the only quarterback of the three never benched for performance, and he guided the 'Skins to arguably their best win of the year in a Monday night contest at Dallas.
While speculation runs rampant the Redskins will move to release or trade Robert Griffin III, the wise guys in Vegas clearly think different. What about you? Let us know in the comments.
