With a need for a big wide receiver that's lasted many years, the Redskins hosted free agent Anquan Boldin for a visit to Ashburn.
Can confirm earlier reports the Redskins are hosting WR Anquan Bolden. #scottymacworking

Boldin has spent the last three years with the San Fracisco 49ers, where despite some subpar QB play, he has continued to produce. What type of contract Boldin can expect will be tricky to decipher, as the 6'1", 218 lbs. veteran wideout will be 36 years old when the season starts. Boldin's visit to Washington - first reported by The Washington Post - comes as the team may be losing both its starting receivers after this season, as Pierre Garçon's contract expires and DeSean Jackson's deal holds opt-out clauses.
Never much of a speed threat, Boldin has proven to be one of the tougher wideouts to ever play in the league throughout his 13-year career. In the 2008 season, Boldin caught 11 touchdowns despite broken bones in his face. A Super Bowl winner in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens, it would seem Boldin is the type of physical, hard-working player Washington GM Scot McCloughan would want on his team.
In 13 seasons, Boldin has more than 13,000 career receving yards to go with 74 TDs. His best yardage season came in 2005 in Arizona when he cracked the 1,400 yard plateua. Last season in 13 games catching passes from Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert, Boldin brought down 69 catches for 789 yards and four TDs.
