When Scot McCloughan took over as GM of the Redskins, he talked of emphasizing toughness. “The day after a game, you’re going to know you played the Redskins,” he has said on more than one occasion.
Rarely do you get a play that sums up a philosophy in pictures as well as this block from Trent Williams. In the fourth quarter the Redskins were trailing and needed a play. The bubble screen here to Jamison Crowder was good for 26 yards, with the receiver making a few nifty moves in the process. But watch how Williams’ block makes the whole thing possible and how he keeps driving his man to the sideline.

If the Redskins keep playing with this type of attitude, teams certainly will be sore the morning after playing them.
