Like a referee with a whistle, Kelly Oubre Jr.'s deal with adidas is finally official (that lede is brought to you by Lil Wayne).
Reports about the partnership between the No. 15 overall pick in the most recent NBA Draft and the company that provides the footwear for players such as John Wall and Damian Lillard first came out over a month ago. But on Monday, adidas' signing of Oubre Jr. was formally announced, according to the brand's basketball Twitter account.
This was the message that was sent out in the morning to let the masses know of their newest acquisition:

The company also sent out a press release (which included the news that Celtics rookie Terry Rozier was inked as well), and by the sound of it, they have big plans for the Wizards' new small forward.
"adidas today announced partnerships with first round NBA draft picks Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Washington Wizards and Terry Rozier of the Boston Celtics," the release said. "The rookies will be featured in a variety of upcoming adidas initiatives and will play a critical role in the development of basketball footwear and apparel."
The move makes sense for Oubre Jr., who also sported the three stripes in college at Kansas. Now it's up to him and Wall to make sure they're connected by more than just the brand when the Wizards' season opens up in late October.
