After taking the last preseason game off, John Wall is expecting to play in the final two as the Wizards are one week removed from the start of the 2015-16 regular season.
The Wizards beat the Milwaukee Bucks 105-101 on Saturday without Wall who was a healthy scratch. This week's games are at the Miami Heat on Wednesday and vs. the Toronto Raptors on Friday in Montreal.
"Just going off what we've been going through in practices, trying to get prepared for the regular season his decision I think is (for me) to play both games," Wall said of coach Randy Wittman, who'd chose to rest him.
Wall hasn't played more than 23 minutes in four exhibition games. The Wizards had 34 assists on 47 field goals in a win Friday at the Philadelphia 76ers with Wall in the lineup. When asked if Wall potentially would be rested again before the regular season tips for them Oct. 28, Wittman just responded, "No."
With Ramon Sessions getting the start in Milwaukee, the Wizards' offense didn't suffer as they had 31 assists on 37 field goals. It's a good sign that they may be able to survive when their superstar is absent because of injury, sickness or just in need of a night off during the grueling 82-game season.
"It was a great experience for us to have 31 assists without John," Wittman said. "That's a testament to those guys and the ball movement of everybody when that happens."
