In case you weren't aware, Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is from the DC area. He's also set to become a free agent in the summer of 2016.
How perfect would it be if Durant returned to his hometown to play for the Wizards?!? Even more perfect now that Washington fans have suitable attire for the occasion!
Behold: Nike's recently released KD 8 t-shirt with DC landmarks printed on it.

The Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol sit atop a basketball, which is set against a backdrop of the DC flag. The KD logo appears on the left sleeve.
There is no Oklahoma City version of the shirt (though Nike sells other KD apparel with lightening bolts and "Weatherman" tag lines).
Durant has repeatedly and strenuously refused to respond to speculation about his impending free agency, leaving Wizards fans to scour the Internet for clues about his intentions like this one.
It's possible that Nike is simply trying to capitalize (get it?) on Durant's district fan base. OR, this could be part of an elaborately planned, retail-priced message to Washington that #KD2DC is in the works. Just in time for the holidays.
