Wizards star John Wall was ejected Wednesday night after being assessed a Flagrant 2 for his hard foul on Celtics guard Marcus Smart. It was his second ejection in as many games.
Wall got tossed from Monday's contest against the Rockets, as well. That time, he picked up his second technical foul for inappropriate language toward an official that he'd bumped by the scorer's table. He was fined $25,000 for the incident.
In the locker room Wednesday night, the three-time All-Star explained that he let frustration get the better of him in the altercation with Smart.
He said he'd had a bloody finger from being stepped on intentionally, then didn't get any calls for contact while driving to the basket, even when he was struck in the face.
Still, Wall knows his team desperately needs him as their leader and best player, so two ejections in a row simply can't happen. He apologized on Twitter later in the evening.

Just want to take a moment to apologize to my coaches, teammates and fans for losing my cool tonight. The last thing i would ever want to do is to let you all down. I love and respect this game to much.
Notice that he did not apologize to Smart. There's no great affection between the Wizards and Smart, whose elbow concussed Bradley Beal and broke his nose last season.
The Wizards will watch and wait for any potential discipline from the league.
