2017-18 NBA Rookie of the Year rankings
6. Josh Jackson
Rank Last Week: 4
Phoenix is in full tank-mode at this point, but Josh Jackson has continued to show growth as the season has gone on.
Jackson scored a career-high 36 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists in Saturday's loss to the Warriors.
He's averaged almost 18 points six assists over his last ten games.
5. Dennis Smith, Jr.
Rank Last Week: No. 5
Three straight games of at least 17 points for Smith, who also deals with a Mavericks team that has very little interst in winning right now.
Smith's shooting has been a bit inconsistent though, now under 40 percent over his last nine games.
4. Jayson Tatum, Celtics
Rank Last Week: No. 7
After hitting what looked like the rookie wall not too long ago, Tatum has bounced back nicely over the last two weeks.
He has been forced to do a lot of the heavy lifting, especially on the offensive end, with so many injuries to the squad.
He scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting in Sunday's loss to the Pelicans.
3. Kyle Kuzma, Lakers
Rank Last Week: No. 6
Kuzma continues to be a valuable part of the Lakers' rebuild, averaging 19.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game over the last week, while shooting 38 percent from three-point range
2. Donovan Mitchell, Jazz
Rank Last Week: No. 2
Mitchell has been making a case most of the year to beat out the more hyped Ben Simmons, and right now it's Simmons over Mitchell by a hair.
Mitchell has had to carry a bigger burden in Utah, but the Jazz have won nine in a row with him leading the way.
He's had some spotty shooting games, but still continues to impress, averaging 20.6 points and 5 rebounds per game in almost 37 minutes per game over his last five.
1. Ben Simmons, Sixers
Rank Last Week: No. 1
Simmons had in his ninth triple-double while matching his career high in assists and grabbing at least three steals for the 21st time in 2017-18.
He's now had a triple-double in three of the last four games, falling just two rebounds short of another in Friday's win over the Nets.
The Sixers have won three straight.
