With the Wizards and Pelicans matching up on Tuesday night, the impressive group of former University of Kentucky players now in the NBA has naturally become a popular topic with John Wall and Jodie Meeks on one side and DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis on the other.
Wall was asked from all angles about his Wildcats brethren at Tuesday morning's shootaround ahead of his first matchup against Cousins and Davis as a duo. Not surprisingly, he has some school pride.
"We run the league," he said of Kentucky alums. "We've got a lot of pros. We're going to get more and more every year. It's like a brotherhood."

Beyond Wall, Cousins, Davis and Meeks, Kentucky can also claim Karl-Anthony Towns, De'Aaron Fox and Devin Booker.
The connection between Wall and Cousins runs deep, as the two were the star players under head coach John Calipari in the 2009-10 season. They have been asked many times over the years if they would like to team up again in the NBA. Last year, Cousins even said they have discussed the possibility.
Meanwhile, Wizards fans have dreamt about Cousins reuniting with Wall in Washington. On Tuesday, Wall was asked about the chance of that fantasy becoming true.
"If it happens, it would be great. But it's not nothing I think about during the season," he said.
It was one thing when Cousins was in Sacramento and the Kings were struggling. Many speculated he would one day be traded and indeed he was.

But now Cousins is on a team in the Western Conference playoff hunt. The Pelicans were seventh in the West entering Tuesday's matchup.
Wall talks to Cousins all the time and says the latter seems happy where he is.
"He would tell me if he doesn't like it. But it seems like it's fine with him. He's playing well. They're trying to win and they're trying to find a way to make the playoffs," Wall said.
Wall is good friends with Cousins, but for now they remain opponents and will treat each other as such.
"I don't like him when I'm playing against him, but otherwise we're cool," Wall said.
