The World of Beretta
The World of Beretta showcases the planet's finest big game and bird hunting destinations, celebrating the spirit of adventure that is the hallmark of the sport. Hosted by Hollywood star and avid hunter Gerald McRaney, the series takes viewers to the mountain peaks for bugling elk and to the marshlands for unforgettable mallard gunning and deep into the hunter's soul. This is outdoor television worth watching.

One of Hollywood's most accomplished veteran actors, Gerald McRaney most recently starred on HBO's award-winning series "Deadwood," and CBS's "Jericho," which was nominated for Best Network Television Series. Prior to that, Gerald spent eight years as the irrepressible, yet immensely likable private investigator Rick Simon on "Simon and Simon," after which he went on to become the nation's favorite U.S. Marine in "Major Dad."

Gerald has managed to avoid the pitfalls of typecasting by paying his dues as a working actor in a myriad of stage productions, TV shows and motion pictures. He is not your run-of-the-mill male lead. Over the years, he has excelled in a wide array of characters from farmer to hit man, from vigilante to Vietnam veteran, from old west gunfighter to a southern corrupt sheriff. He has the uncanny ability to realistically assume the persona of the characters he plays. "I like to mix it up and play roles that go totally against type," he explains.

A measure of his popularity: both "Simon and Simon" and "Major Dad" continue to be aired in reruns to this day.

"Simon and Simon" gave Gerald the opportunity to direct. He is particularly proud of a segment he directed which dealt with adolescent drug abuse. He showed how drug abuse can be deglamorized. He, with a group of other film production professionals, formed The Entertainment Industries Council for a Drug-Free Society, an organization dedicated to lobbying producers, directors, and actors to communicate the dangers and evils of drug abuse through film and television. In that role, he has testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Investigations to obtain Senate endorsement of the group's efforts.

Gerald currently hosts "The World of Beretta," a compelling outdoor reality series that airs on the VERSUS network. He enjoys the outdoors and is an expert camper, hunter and fisherman.

He travels throughout the U.S. and elsewhere covering exceptional outdoor sporting activities.
