  • HOU Defensive Back #24
According to Wilson, it’s possible the Texans place Stingley on injured reserve, which would require him to sit out a minimum of four games. Stingley saw his 2022 come to an end late last season due to a hamstring injury, but we don’t have word on whether or not this is the same hamstring as last time. Through two weeks, the former LSU Tiger has earned a 69.1 PFF coverage grade while allowing two catches for 63 yards on four targets. The team may wait until Saturday’s deadline to decide whether or not to place him on injured reserve.
  • HOU Quarterback #7
Stroud was a late addition to last week’s injury report but suited up against the Colts and threw for 384/2 in the loss. The fact he was able to play so soon after his injury is a good sign, and Stroud was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice. Assuming he doesn’t take a turn for the worst, Stroud is an interesting streaming option against a Jaguars defense that’s ranked 25th in passing yards allowed. The Texans have also taken a pass-heavy approach in negative game scripts, with Stroud attempting 44 passes in Week 1 and 47 passes in Week 2.
  • NYG Running Back #31
Given their lack of depth behind Barkley, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Giants split up their running back touches. Matt Breida is the presumed No. 1 back heading into Thursday night’s game, but Gary Brightwell and rookie Eric Gray also have a chance to see carries. Breida will be hard to trust as anything more than a RB3, and has had only four top-24 finishes dating back to 2020.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #17
Robinson has been out since last season with a torn ACL. The Giants slot receiver will finally make his second-year debut on Thursday Night Football against the 49ers. Robinson caught 23 passes for 227 yards as a rookie prior to his injury and while he won’t carry fantasy relevancy immediately, he could develop into a flex play later in the season.
  • MIN Running Back #3
Akers heads to Minnesota, where he will compete with Alexander Mattison for touches. He recently was put in trade talks by the Rams after he was a healthy scratch for Week 2. Akers has seemingly been halfway out of Los Angeles since last season and now the Rams officially move on to Kyren Williams. The Vikings add Akers hoping to electrify a run game to supplement a top-tier passing game.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
Hill did not show a major indication of injury Week 2 against the Patriots, implying that this is more of a precautionary measure. Fellow WR Jaylen Waddle missed practice due to concussion, meaning Hill has a chance to see increased targets for Week 3. For now, Hill’s ankle is worth monitoring, but he still seems on track to play in Week 3 against the Broncos.
  • Quarterback #14
    Bears released QB Nathan Peterman.
Peterman had beaten out undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent to start the season, but it now appears that Bagent will operate as Justin Fields’ back-up. Peterman has thrown four touchdown passes and 13 interceptions on 160 career passes, but has been on an NFL roster for five straight seasons since being drafted in the 5th round by the Bills in 2017.
  • CHI Defensive Coordinator
Williams was away from the team on Sunday as he dealt with a personal matter, and it appears that same personal matter will keep him away from the Bears full-time. Williams released a statement saying, “I am taking a step back to take care of my health and family. ... I value the NFL shield and all that it stands for and after taking some time to address my health, I plan to come back and coach again.” Coach Matt Eberflus is expected to continue to call defensive plays for the time being.
  • SF Wide Receiver #11
Aiyuk underwent testing on his shoulder that did not reveal any broken bones. He is expected to have suffered an AC sprain. Though it isn’t a long-term issue, the injury could prevent him from playing on Thursday. Given the short turnaround, it would make sense for the 49ers to hold him out this week and give him extra time to recover. If he can’t go, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle will both get big spikes to their Week 3 fantasy outlooks.
  • BAL Running Back #43
Hill did not practice today and looks like a long-shot to suit up on Sunday. The Ravens signed Kenyan Drake to their practice squad as a potential insurance option. He will likely be called up to the active roster on Saturday. Assuming Hill can’t go, Gus Edwards could handle the bulk of Baltimore’s work between the tackle. He will sit on the RB2/3 border if Hill is ruled out.
