  • CIN Quarterback #9
Burrow did not participate in the Bengals’ first practice of the week on Thursday. Getting back to a limited session gives him a good shot at suiting up on Monday versus the Rams. He will get his official status after the team’s final practice on Saturday. For fantasy managers fretting a questionable tag that he ultimately can’t play through, Matthew Stafford is the best contingency plan to have in place. Baker Mayfield, who faces the Eagles also on Monday, would be the desperation option.
  • SF Head Coach
The move was announced as a multi-year extension, though no concrete details have been leaked yet. Keeping Shanahan under contract is a no-brainer for the 49ers. Three games into his seventh season as the boss in San Francisco, Shanahan is 55-46 with 22 of his losses coming in his first two seasons. He has mounted successful seasons with a rotating cast of quarterbacks at his disposal and is widely thought of as one of the greatest offensive minds the league has ever seen. General manager John Lynch was also extended, keeping the band together for years to come.
  • LAC Running Back #30
This was always expected to be the case, especially after Ekeler said on his own podcast that this was “a day-to-day, week-to-week type of situation.” The Chargers will once again rely on Joshua Kelley to serve in a lead back role while hoping for better results against the Vikings. It’s only been two weeks, but the Vikings have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game on the season, and were obliterated by D’Andre Swift Swift (28-175-1) and the Eagles last week. Kelley will have some high-end RB2 appeal.
  • DET Wide Receiver #14
St. Brown missed Wednesday’s practice but was back on the field Thursday in a limited capacity. He was upgraded to a full-participant on Friday and should play despite carrying a questionable tag into the Week. St. Brown will be in his typical high-volume role, and can be penciled in as a top-12 option for Week 3.
  • DET Running Back #5
Montgomery never really expected to play this week after being carted off with a bad thigh bruise last week. The veteran running back didn’t log a practice this week, but could be in line for Week 4 if his recovery continues to go well. Logic would tell us that Jahmyr Gibbs will be in line for a busy day against the Falcons, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Craig Reynolds also earn some snaps, as the Lions can’t help but use their first-round running back as nothing more than a role player.
  • KC Wide Receiver #19
Toney did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but may have logged a limited session on Friday based on what we’ve seen online. The oft-injured receiver is once again dealing with another ailment that threatens to sideline him for Week 3, and is truly questionable heading into the weekend. If he’s unable to go, Skyy Moore could be in line for more targets with Richie James (knee) also being ruled out.
  • KC Running Back #10
Pacheco was limited in Thursday’s practice and has a chance to suit up for Week 3 against the Bears. His hamstring injury wasn’t severe enough to bounce him from last week’s contest against the Jaguars, so we’ll his limited practices were the team’s attempt to manage the injuries. Pacheco has rushed 20 times for 93 scoreless yards on the season and caught five passes for 31 yards. He’ll be a fringe RB2/RB3 against a porous Bears defense.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #17
Waddle was upgraded to a limited session on Friday after missing practice the previous two days. He has a good shot to get cleared over on Saturday or even Sunday morning prior to kickoff. Versus a Denver defense that just got cooked by Sam Howell and company, Waddle will flirt with WR1 numbers in Week 3.
  • TEN Running Back #22
The Titans surprisingly listed Henry with a toe injury on their first injury report of the week but eventually added the “rest” tag to his injury status. The Big Dog is fine and will see his normal, enormous workload versus the Browns. He remains an RB1 versus a Cleveland team that may not be able to keep the ball out of his hands in Week 3.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #10
Hopkins strangely went from a full practice on Wednesday to a limited session on Thursday. He didn’t practice at all on Friday. Still, the most likely explanation for this is load management as he didn’t practice once last week before playing on Sunday. The Titans’ inactives will still be worth checking in on 90 minutes before kickoff. If Hopkins can’t go, Treylon Burks will step in as the team’s No. 1 receiver.
