  • NE Quarterback #4
Zappe was getting first-team reps at practice on Wednesday after replacing Mac Jones in the Patriots’ Week 12 loss against the Giants. He was in for the second half of the the game, with an unappetizing 54 yards and an interception on 9-of-14 passing. Still, the Patriots believe he will be an upgrade over Jones and intend to start Zappe in Week 13 against the Chargers. Malik Cunningham was getting second-team reps, indicating he may be Zappe’s backup with Jones falling to third on the depth chart.
  • DET Offensive Coordinator
Frank Reich was recently fired as head coach of the Panthers, who are 1-10 after drafting QB Bryce Young first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson received head coaching interest from the Panthers last off-season, but had declined an interview and choose to stay in Detroit. Reich, who was hired by the Panthers instead, is now out after 11 games and the 37-year-old Johnson is expected to receive interest for the Panthers’ head coaching vacancy again.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #10
Kupp suffered an ankle injury in Week 11 and played through it in Week 12 despite starting the week with a DNP in practice. This week, Kupp starts off with a full practice, putting him on track to play in Week 13. He seems to be managing his ankle fine and should be a fantasy start against the Browns on Sunday.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #5
Palmer is eligible to come off injured reserve in Week 13. However, Staley’s comments don’t invoke optimism that Palmer will be active immediately for Week 13. Initially placed on injured reserve with a knee sprain, Palmer’s role leaves a void filled loosely by Quentin Johnston and Jalen Guyton targets. Fantasy managers can keep Palmer in IR spots, though will have to look elsewhere until Palmer comes back, if at all this season.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #13
There seems to be no indication that the injury is anything serious, and Allen often gets Wednesday practices off for “vet rest.” However, the team listed him as a DNP with a quad injury on the official report, so it’s at least something to monitor as the week goes on.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #10
Despite Jeudy not being on the field on Wednesday, head coach Sean Payton says he believes Jeudy will be fine and able to practice tomorrow. The Broncos should expect to have their number two receiver on Sunday against the Texans.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #1
The rookie injured his ribs in the Chargers’ Week 12 loss to the Ravens but, after the game, head coach Brandon Staley mentioned that the decision for Johnston to not re-enter was his, not the medical staffs. As a result, even if Johnston is back to full practice, there’s no guarantee that he returns the same snap share he saw before Week 12. The first-round pick out of TCU has disappointed this season and should be off the radar in redraft leagues.
  • PIT Quarterback #8
Just two days after suggesting the Pickett could be limited in practice with an ankle injury, the Steelers listed their quarterback as a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. He should have little limitations in his performance this weekend against the Cardinals.
  • CLE Quarterback #15
When speaking to the media on Wednesday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski made it clear that Joe Flacco was the back-up to Dorian Thompson-Robinson. With Thompson-Robinson entering concussion protocol after taking a big hit against the Broncos on Sunday, that would mean that Flacco would be in line to start if Thomson-Robinson is unable to play. Flacco threw for 1,051 five five touchdowns and three starts over four starts with the Jets last season, but is incredibly immobile, which could be good news for Aaron Donald and the Rams defense on Sunday.
  • CLE Defensive End #95
Earlier in the week Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that everything check out okay with Garrett’s shoulder but that he was managing soreness. As a result, it seems likely that the team will monitor his practice reps this week to ensure he can get as close to 100 percent as possible on Sunday. Given Garrett’s experience and skill set, he likely doesn’t need to do too much practicing this week to be ready for this weekend’s game against the Rams. When asked directly about whether he liked Garrett’s chances of playing, Stefanski said, “I do.”
