  • SF Wide Receiver #19
Samuel was ruled day-to-day by head coach Kyle Shanahan after the 49ers Week 3 win over the Giants, but Samuel has yet to participate in either of the team’s first two practices to open this week. If he’s unable to log a limited session on Friday, Samuel will be considered questionable at best heading into the weekend. We’ll check back in on Friday to see how the team lists him heading into Week 4. The team also listed Jauan Jennings as limited with a shoulder injury.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
Smith wasn’t on Wednesday’s injury report, indicating this is something that arose over the last 24 hours. The Eagles play their Week 4 matchup on Sunday against the Commanders, giving him nearly three days to get right ahead of game day. Assuming he’s healthy, Smith will be on track for high-end WR2 week against the Commanders.
  • GB Tackle #69
Bakhtiari will miss at least the next four games, but the veteran left tackle could be sidelined for much longer. Bakhtiari continues to be plagued by a leg injury suffered in 2020, and has appeared in just 13 games since 2021. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it’s “unclear when or if Bakhtiari will return this season.”
  • IND Quarterback #5
Assuming he’s cleared by an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the Rams, Richardson will be ready to return after his one game absence. The dynamic rookie has logged two-straight practices to open the week, and simply needs to be cleared by said independent neurologist to clear protocol. We’ll wait for the official word on his Week 4 status, but things are looking good for the young signal-caller.
  • LV Quarterback #10
We’ll check back in once we see how the Raiders list Garopolo on the injury report, but Thursday is a step in the right direction for Garoppolo, who missed Wednesday’s practice while working through concussion protocol. If he clears protocol in time, Garoppolo will likely suit up for Week 4 against the Chargers. If he can’t go, it will be either Brian Hoyer or Aidan O’Connell drawing the start.
  • NYG Running Back #26
We’re a long way from knowing whether or not Barkley will play on Monday night against the Seahawks, but a limited practice to start the week is a great sign. We’ll continue to monitor his practice status throughout the week, but it’s possibly we won’t know about his Week 4 status until hours leading up to the game. Matt Breida would be in line to start if Barkley is held out another week.
  • CAR Running Back #6
Sanders has been nursing this groin injury since training camp, but has still suited up for every game this season. Heading into last week’s matchup against the Seahawks, Sanders logged back-to-back limited practices before getting in a full session in the final day. We’d expect him to be ready to go for Week 4 against the Vikings.
  • LAC Running Back #30
Ekeler opened the week with back-to-back practices, but his Week 4 status could still be up in the air with the Chargers heading toward their Week 5 bye week. If Ekeler is held out this weekend, Joshua Kelley would be in line for one more start. However, if Ekeler suits up, he’ll be a high-end RB1 play against the Raiders at home.
  • CAR Quarterback #9
Young logged his second-straight full practice of the week on Thursday, and was quoted saying, “I feel great,” in regards to the ankle injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Saints. Young was sidelined for Week 3’s loss against the Seahawks, but sounds like he’s trending toward a return this weekend. Young will try to follow the 361 yard, two touchdown performance Andy Dalton put forth last week, but cant’ be trusted as anything more than a low-end QB2 after a slow start out of the gate.
  • BAL Running Back #43
Hill missed Week 3’s matchup against the Colts with a turf toe injury, but made his return to the practice field on Thursday. We’ll see if he’s able to log another session on Friday to close out the week, but it sounds like there’s at least a chance Hill could play on Sunday against the Browns. If he does give it a go, Hill is nothing more than a fringe RB3 in a backfield chock full of replacement-level backs.
