49ers' home, road opponents finalized for 2021 NFL season

The 2020 NFL season was supposed to be the 49ers' revenge tour after losing in Super Bowl LIV. Instead, injuries decimated the roster and San Francisco finished in last place in the NFC West.

The silver lining of the 6-10 record this season is that the postponed "revenge tour" has a better chance to succeed in 2021.

With the 2020 regular season complete, the 49ers now know all of their 2021 opponents, including locations of the games, though they don't know what order they will see each team.

The 49ers knew 14 of their 16 opponents heading into the final weekend, and rounded out the schedule with the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles, who finished in last place in the NFC South and NFC East, respectively.

In addition to taking on all three of their NFC West rivals and the Falcons and Eagles, the 49ers will face all four teams from the NFC North and all four teams from the AFC South.

The NFL reportedly plans to add a 17th game to the 2021 schedule, and MMQB's Albert Breer reported last week that the NFC West would match up with the AFC North, meaning the 49ers would face the last-place Cincinnati Bengals.

Assuming the 49ers return to full health next season, and reload the roster through free agency and the NFL draft, those games against the rebuilding Falcons, Eagles and Bengals could be easy victories for Kyle Shanahan's group.
