49ers-Bears injury report: Rookies could get opportunities vs. Bears

Share

SANTA CLARA — The 49ers are in a familiar situation. They're headed into their matchup against the Bears with a similar participation report as the previous week facing the Seahawks

The trio of rookies: Marcell Harris, Tarvarius Moore and D.J. Reed, may get another crack at extended play because of the injuries in the secondary.

Jaquiski Tartt is still not able to practice and Ahkello Witherspoon has ended his season early on injured reserve.

K’Waun Williams has returned to full participation in practice but the Niners staff could keep Reed on the field to get valuable reps as the season winds down.

Matt Breida and Malcolm Smith were both limited which indicates that they could play, but more than likely on a pitch count.

Expect Jeff Wilson to get another chance to show he can keep the ball secure rotating with Breida. Elijah Lee will also see plenty of playing time lined up next to Fred Warner with Smith being only available for limited snaps.

Former 49ers outside linebacker Aaron Lynch did not practice for the second day in a row which could mean he may not be on the field for his return to Levi’s Stadium.
