Dealing with numerous injuries in the secondary, the 49ers were forced to start Brian Allen at cornerback in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.
Allen got off to a brutal start, surrendering multiple completions and committing a 15-yard penalty early, and eventually was replaced by Ahkello Witherspoon in the second quarter.
It's safe to say 49ers Twitter was excited to see Witherspoon take the field, as the 1-3 Dolphins jumped out to a surprising 24-7 lead in the first half.
Witherspoon was active but didn't get the start Sunday as he's been dealing with a hamstring issue that forced him to miss the 49ers' last two games.
Already without Richard Sherman, K'Waun Williams and Emmanuel Moseley, Witherspoon will need to step up if the 49ers want to rally and avoid a third consecutive home loss.
