49ers, Bucs have five touchdowns nullified by penalties in first half

It hasn't been the cleanest start to the 2019 NFL season for Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers.

Not only was linebacker Kwon Alexander ejected for a lowering his helmet while hitting Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston, but the Niners also had three (!) touchdowns called back due to penalties in the first half.

On the first drive of the game, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo hit tight end George Kittle for an 8-yard touchdown, but it was called back due to offensive pass interference on Kyle Juszczyk.

After Garoppolo threw a pick-six in the second quarter, the 49ers put together a drive and punched it into the end zone twice, but there was laundry on the field.

First, Raheem Mostert found pay dirt from 15 yards out but it was nullified due to a hold. Two plays later, Garoppolo and Kittle hooked up for a 22-yard score, but it was called back due to an illegal formation.

Yikes.
